April, My phone and me...

As some of you will know, I play along with the #FMSphotoaday challenge (Giving it a go) I’ve been playing along for quite a few months now and this is the first month in ages that I have completed it every single day!

Great Weather for Windmills

Lila and I have just come back from visiting our parents for the week in Papendrecht, in the Southwest of Holland.

I would say a great time was had by all, even if the weather was a tad on the cold side. Oh come on, I’m British, you didn’t really expect me not to mention the weather did you? If you did, who were you kidding!

We got to visit a number of lovely places. We went to Gouda and had some cheese.

We went aboard a modern day, full size Noah’s ark. It really has been built! With life sized animals (albeit the more exotic ones aren’t real), but the goats, horse, dogs, peacocks, bunnies and birds were. There is sits, well gently rocks presumably, on the port in Dordrecht.

We went to a little tourist spot called Kinderdijk, with gorgeous blue skies, water and windmills. As you can imagine, if you know me at all, many a photo was taken.

There we met two cheeky but responsive ducks. Lila and I were talking to the ducks, as you do, and I said “Come on over and bite her laces” and lo and behold over he waddled (do ducks waddle?) straight up to Lila and he started pecking at her laces. Just call me Dr. Doolittle. Next time I see a goose maybe I’ll ask it to lay a golden egg. Hey, you never know right!

Isle of Dogs

While driving to Lila’s for our family weekend for Mothering Sunday, I spotted a sign for the Isle of Dogs.

I have decided that this is literally an island where only dogs get to live.

There are endless treats to be had, lots of space to run around. Toys that throw themselves and lots of dogs to befriend.

I have told Saxon about it, he plans to visit one day.

Although as Dad questioned, when all the dogs dream there, who do they think they are?

In your dreams...

I dream a lot, always have and I seem to remember them more than most people I talk to. I think I get it from my Grandad, who also used to talk about his dreams at the breakfast table.

Random fact, it’s also my favourite word!

When we were driving to London the other weekend for a family get together, I started talking about a weird one I’d had recently, which could have been made into an episode of Ripper Street (which was on recently) and I was merrily chatting away describing that in this certain dream I’d been a man in his 40s.

Only to discover that when my parents dream they are ALWAYS themselves!

Yes, sometimes I’m myself, but I’d say 9 times out of 10 I’m not…I can be anyone. So the news that they are always themselves is truly shocking to me.

So, I need to know, are you always you when you dream?
