Great Weather for Windmills

Lila and I have just come back from visiting our parents for the week in Papendrecht, in the Southwest of Holland.

I would say a great time was had by all, even if the weather was a tad on the cold side. Oh come on, I’m British, you didn’t really expect me not to mention the weather did you? If you did, who were you kidding!

We got to visit a number of lovely places. We went to Gouda and had some cheese.

We went aboard a modern day, full size Noah’s ark. It really has been built! With life sized animals (albeit the more exotic ones aren’t real), but the goats, horse, dogs, peacocks, bunnies and birds were. There is sits, well gently rocks presumably, on the port in Dordrecht.

We went to a little tourist spot called Kinderdijk, with gorgeous blue skies, water and windmills. As you can imagine, if you know me at all, many a photo was taken.

There we met two cheeky but responsive ducks. Lila and I were talking to the ducks, as you do, and I said “Come on over and bite her laces” and lo and behold over he waddled (do ducks waddle?) straight up to Lila and he started pecking at her laces. Just call me Dr. Doolittle. Next time I see a goose maybe I’ll ask it to lay a golden egg. Hey, you never know right!
